Riel is:

A language created many years ago, when Anasiens first appeared and the world was back to the basics.
No culture, no technology, no nothing.
Just the natural entities that where there when the earth began.
Humans woke up, as did Anasiens (a race of Anthropomorphic animals), to this new world. Neither remembering how they had gotten there, they went along as though they had always been like this.
Until their memories returned. They remembered the comet and decided that they had better get along or else this might happen again.
The Anasiens knew better. They had been given a sign.
A divine message telling them that the destruction caused before would not happen again, not without warning or some force to stop it.
The divine being, a goddess named Phoenix, told the Anasiens that they should be weary.
Many of the Humans were angered by the fact that both Animals and Anasiens existed.
Therefore, Sakhmet gave them a language of their own, incase they ever needed to communicate with each other.
As the years went by, many forgot the language, until all but a few people could even speak it.
The Anasiens had grown to trust humans, and trust Phoenix not to let the destruction of before happen again, so they did not need the language. However, the animals remembered it.
When the humans revolted against the Anasiens, Phoenix came back and lead the way to the hidden city. A city carved with the words of this language, instructions on what to do next.
But there was a problem...
Only a few remember this language as traditions change. Only the civilizations who knew of the legend and repeated it often knew it.
Phoenix left them with Bastet and Sakhmet.

And only those who spoke with the two goddesses kept the language alive.
Still, it was not enough. The gods created their own language, on that only the chosen few would know. Only those deamed worthy of the god's language.
The Anasiens died with the red smoke along with the gods will to cast revenge on the Humans.
In Revok two languages rule. The gods language and Riel.
The Anasiens now must pay for their disobidience, they were supposed to practice the Riel language and wait for the chosen one to come and tell then what the gods message said. Now they must wait for someone who can do both.
